Danny Dyer's debut album ""For Jesus" has sold 3 copies according to the official charts company.
His label 'Faith Records' are said to be 'joyful' at the high sales, adding that "It is more than double the sales that we had predicted."
The album, which debuted at number one on the religious charts, features reggae covers of popular hymns such as “In Christ Alone”, “Be Still, for the presence of the Lord” and “What a Friend we have in Jesus”.
Dyer has stated that he "proud" of the album and encouraged the public to buy the album; “If you don’t buy this f**king album, I’ll put something right across your f**king canister!”
Despite the good sales, the album has received mostly scathing reviews. Gillian Graham from the The Guardian called the album "Dreadful" while the John Richards of NME quipped "Ironically, Dyers album dedicated to Jesus is proof that there is no God". On the other hand For Hymn Magazine(FHM) called that album a "revelation" and "one the greatest albums of all time."
