A highly respected and well-loved Maths teacher has been found guilty of consuming three Scottish landmarks.

Following a 10 week trial, Kevin McQueen, 54, from Milngavie, was convicted by unanimous verdict of eating the Falkirk Wheel, Edinburgh Castle and the Callanish Standing Stones.

The divorced father of 5, who also filmed his crimes is expected to face a mandatory life sentence.

It all started when, in October of last year, security guards at the Falkirk Wheel, reported that the wheel was missing. Over the next few weeks, the Callanish Standing Stones and Edinburgh Castle also went missing.

Over the next few months police struggled to find any leads until a brick from Edinburgh Castle was found at McQueen’s flat in Milngavie with bitemarks. The police were able to match the DNA of McQueens bitemarks to those left at the crime scene. Additionally, a video camera was found in McQueens loft with videos of him eating the landmarks.

McQueen is due to be sentenced on June 6th
